The shark research being carried out on the project in Fiji helps ensure that scientists and marine protection lobbyists are provided with regular and consistent scientific data about the life history, reproductive information, movement, and biology of the sharks found in Fijian waters.
The Shark Conservation project in Fiji from Projects Abroad allows volunteers to work on pioneering shark protection projects with respected scientists and shark research experts. Volunteers get directly involved in scientific shark research and share data with local and international marine conservation organizations. Previous diving or shark research experience is not required, but volunteers must be able to swim and be medically fit to scuba dive. Diving is a required task on the project.
